Unitarian Music Club
All Music Club meetings are on Mondays at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary, except where noted.
The Music Club welcomes all styles of acoustic music, and performances are arranged in advance. If you would like to perform, come and we will set a date. Everyone is welcome. If you’re new to the church or looking for something different, try us out. We’re a mix of listeners and performers who get together for enjoyable evenings. When you come, please bring a contribution to refreshments.

Covenant Groups
Our first priorities in our church life are to walk with and to support one another on our various religious journeys – and to care for one another. To these ends we have established Covenant Groups, which are units of 5 to eleven people that meet at least once a month for 2-2½ hours of convivial sharing and celebration. Each group has its own facilitator, who in turn is served by a covenant group that comprises all the facilitators and is led by the parish minister. The groups start up in October, end in June, and reform as new groups the next October.
Our hope is that in time almost everyone in the church will be served by a covenant group and, along with Sunday worship, will find participation to be foundational to our common spiritual endeavour. People are welcome to join groups throughout the church year.
Art Sharing
A group of church members who are practising artists in various genres (music and writing as well as visual art) meet on the third Saturday from 2 to 5 pm. If you are interested, email Mary Bennett.

Philosophers' Fireside Cafe
Third Friday of the month, 7– 9 pm
Fireside Room, Hewett Centre
Admission $5, no pre-registration
Everyone is welcome. The evenings are as warm as our fireside, as welcoming as our carpet, as comfortable as our new chairs and as interesting as the diverse, intelligent people we attract. There is a supportive, friendly atmosphere to encourage you to participate actively and share your unique and interesting thoughts and perspectives. One thing is sure – it is a great place to learn and help others to learn.

Vegan Cooking Workshops
Local, organic, vegan cooking workshops are well underway and ongoing. Small group classes take place on weekend afternoons in the kitchen of Denise Swanson.
Average suggested donation is $15 (depending on menu) and includes tuition, materials, meal, and often extra food to take home.

First Friday Focus
First Friday of the month, 6 pm: fast food for thought optional (Dutch Treat), 7 pm: program in-house (Hewett Centre) or launch to another location

Daytimers
First, third, and fifth (when there is one) Thursdays of each month, 11 am, morning program; 12 noon, BYOL; 1 pm, afternoon program, Fireside Room, Hewett Centre.
Daytimers’ meetings are open to anyone with the time and interest to attend morning, lunchtime and/or afternoon programs. Your presence, participation and ideas are welcome.
Circle Dinners
Circle Dinners are opportunities for church members to get to know each other with good food and good conversation. Small groups are put together over an organized potluck hosted by one member of the circle. Sign up after church in Hewett Centre in the fall to participate in this friendly program.
Sacred Circle Dance
September to June, second and third Mondays of each month, Hewett Centre, 7–9 pm, by donation Sometimes there are other events, including teachers from the US, UK or other parts of Canada. More information is available by email or on the Sacred Circle Dance blog.
Second Monday
Come and learn a variety of sacred circle dances. These are easy to learn and are more about spiritual practice and community building than about “right steps.” In fact, our mantra is: There are no wrong steps, only variations. Usually a group of 10 to 15, we meet in Hewett Centre and dance to recorded music.
Third Monday
We will share sacred circle dances within the context of a Unitarian worship service, beginning with a chalice lighting and opening words and closing with “Carry the Flame.” Each session will have a theme developed by two of the group wherein we will explore the topic through readings, sharing, meditation and dance.
